Of course, being sexy over 45 is possible but we do not all feel it is achievable. As a matter of fact, many women do not feel sexy at 25 or 35, so 45 is a bigger stretch isn’t it?
Imagine a friend sharing with you a thought that brings you almost to tears. Really just tears you up and makes you want to SCREAM, and she didn’t even know it! She was simply sharing something she believed, and I knew this belief would crush her and anyone else who believed it.
Here is what she shared, a single thought that wraps up an entire old outdated belief system that must be changed now.
“No one’s supposed to notice me now anyways.”
Yes, that’s what I heard a friend say after her 45th birthday. I couldn’t believe it, I just loved her so much and it literally tore me to pieces to hear those words.
NO ONE should ever feel like their life is over at any age. I understood, and maybe you do as well. You see it was not that long ago I might have even felt the same way. She mentioned feeling older than her age, saying she’d “thrown in the towel and was fine with it.”
I knew better. No one throws in the towel unless they thought the fight was over. I had to help her now, there was a fight in her and I knew it. I hope you can relate too.
Maybe it is possible that she was simply worried & caught up in life? You can understand that she had been taking care of aging parents, managing her kids, working through her relationship, taking on new responsibilities at work, and got caught up with LIFE! Who hasn’t, right!
So, of course, she had gained some weight, lost her shape, and more importantly her confidence. I could feel how afraid of the future she was. She looked sad, overwhelmed, and tired.
She is the woman that feels that the best years are behind her. I imagine she is not the only one.
